Abul Hasan Ali Ibn Uthman Al-Jullabi Al-Hujwiri (1010- 1072 CE) (ابو الحسن علی بن عثمان الجلابی الھجویری رحمتہ اللہ علیه) was an Islamic Scholar of Junaidi Sufi order, famous for his treatise on Sufism in Persian, titled, ‘Unveiling of the Unseen’ (كشف المحجوب). This is the second well known treatise on Sufism written before the birth of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (1077-1166) (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ).
The first well known treatise on Sufism was written by Shaikh Al-Qushairi, (986-1072) in Arabic, titled ‘Epistle on Sufism (الرسالة القشيرية في علم التصوف). Shaikh Al-Qushairi also belonged to the Junaidi Sufi order.
Shaikh Al-Hujwiri and Shaikh Al-Qushairi were contemporaries and are reported to have met with each other in Nishapur, Iran and probably in Baghdad, Iraq. Shaikh Al-Hujwiri praised Shaikh Al-Qushairi and wrote that he knew him well and who, according to him, was the wonder of their age by virtue of his spiritual life and piety.
