The book ‘Secret of Secrets and Manifestation of lights’ (Sir Al-Asrar wo Mazhar Al-Anwaar - سِر الأسرار ومظهر الأنوار) is considered one of the important works of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ). It is a brief account of the essence of Sufism describing how outward practices of Islam like prayer, fasting, zakat, etc., contain a wealth of inner dimension that must be discovered by all believers. Once these are achieved, the spiritual life of the believer becomes complete. Without this understanding, the ritual teachings of the religion become like an outer dress, over a lifeless body.
